2006 Ms. Wang’s Class (Simplified Chinese Class)

The Peninsula Chinese School was established in 1977 with a total of approximately 30 students and three teachers. The classes meet every Saturday at Christopher Newport University (CNU) during months when the local public school is in session. In 1980, through the sponsorship of the late Dr. Agnes Braganza, the Peninsula Chinese School was accepted as part of the CNU continuing education program. Student enrollment enlarges at approximately 110 to 120 students per year. The instructional program gives emphasis to the Chinese language, cultural heritage, and occasional enrichment program such as folk dancing, music, martial art, Tai-chi, arts and craft when instructors are available on either paid or volunteering basis.
